Humanely raised pigs raised by a small family farm produce a better-tasting product that is marbled and full of flavor. As our hogs roam in the forest consuming what they wish and wallowing in the mud to cool off, we know they receive an excellent life and live as pigs should.
We began farming to provide a clean food source for our family. However, it has morphed into something more significant. Acorn Creek Farmstead is now known as a teaching farm that feeds the community and has become a refuge for those seeking food freedom. The farm offers clean meat, pasture-raised eggs, raw milk, home-canned goods, and fermented foods. In addition, the farm allows others to raise meat rabbits, feeder pigs, poultry, and Nigerian goats. Justin and Ann believe in empowering others by offering hands-on workshops teaching traditional life skills to those who seek to live a more traditional life.
Forest/Pasture Raised Pigs
Pigs are essential members of any small family farm or homestead by consuming any food waste created. In addition, they work diligently to clear the land, till the garden and produce offspring which feed you. Because not everyone is equipped or ready to raise pigs for meat, we are happy to do this for you! Providing you with a clean food source is essential to good health.
Raised on a Non-GMO Whole Grain Feed
Our farm is committed to raising our hogs on a whole grain non-GMO feed, grown and milled by a local family farm in Middle Tennessee. As a small family farm, we take what and how we feed our forest/pasture-raised pigs seriously. In addition to offering a locally sourced non-GMO whole grain, the grains soak for 12 hours, increasing the nutritional value of the grains and producing a healthier hog.
In addition, our herd roams the forest area on our farm, clearing the land and consuming plant matter, roots, hickory nuts, and acorns.
Pricing and Butchering Cost
As a small family farm, we strive to provide you with the healthiest, best-tasting, and humanely raised meat possible. Our job is to raise the hogs; however, it is the butcher’s job to package them for your freezer.
When selecting your hog, please choose from one of the three buying options:
Reserve your Pig Today
Reserve a Half or Whole Hog
Our hogs will be heading to the butcher in January 2024. Reserve your hog now to guarantee you will not miss out on this round! We will transport your pig to the butcher as part of your package. Once the butcher has finished processing your hog, you will be responsible for picking up your packaged pork from the butcher. Based on your location, we can provide you with two processing facilities.
Purchase a Half or Whole Hog:
The waiting list for 2024 is now open. Please note that families that have joined the waiting list can place their order before we open it up to the general public.
Purchase Feeder Hogs
Piglets are available for those interested in raising their hogs. Please note piglets are sold in pairs to ensure boredom is kept at bay, allowing them to be better behaved. With that said, we will sell one piglet to those who only wish to raise one.
Piglets will be ready to head to greener pastures once they are weaned at eight weeks of age. Feeder pigs sell for $150 per piglet.
