Hands-on Fermenting Workshop for Beginners
At Acorn Creek Farmstead, we believe in the health benefits of consuming fermented foods and beverages daily. With 70% of the body’s immune system running through the gut, the probiotics found in fermented goods are essential to assist it in functioning properly.
A healthy gut is not made by an over the counter powdered probiotic, but is built instead by real foods and beverages created with the help from beneficial live bacteria. Remember, healthy living begins with what you are consuming.
Fermented foods and beverages are consumed daily by individuals worldwide, yet( no comma) only a small number of Americans consume them on a regular basis. When did making and consuming fermented foods and beverages stop being normal? Well, the answer is quite easy: when home canning took off. As shelf-stable home-canned goods gained popularity, it became less necessary to ferment foods for long-term storage.
Fermented pickle items, krauts, kefir (milk and water), kombucha, kimchi, and homemade sourdough bread are not only healthy, but delicious. Not to mention, these fermented goods are extremely easy to make.
This hands-on workshop will give you the confidence and skills needed to better your health. In addition, we will teach you how to make ferments which every member of your family will enjoy!
It is essential to make consuming fermented foods and beverages normal once again. Better yet, it has become essential to bring back the tradition of fermenting foods within the home. Your overall health depends on it.
