Crafting Gut Healthy Beverages for the Family

With 70% of the body’s immune system running through the gut, it is essential to keep it healthy. To achieve this, probiotics such as kombucha and water kefir, as well as prebiotic foods, are consumed. Consuming these beverages on a daily basis means a healthy gut, leading to a healthier you. More than likely, you have purchased kombucha and water kefir beverages from your local market, spending more than you should on a bottle. Allow us to help you save a substantial amount of money while creating flavored brews you and your family will enjoy!

The deeper we dive into consuming a clean food source for optimal health, the more I realize that a considerable percentage of individuals do not realize the importance of ensuring the gut flora remains healthy and active. Without providing this, the body becomes weak and has a difficult time with digestion, nutrient absorption, protection against pathogens, and ensuring a strong immune system.

Natural probiotics come from consuming fermented foods and fermented beverages, like the ones taught in this hands-on kombucha and water kefir workshop. In addition to learning about these fermented beverages, we will cover brewing June tea and milk kefir. I would also encourage you to look into our hands-on fermentation workshop. In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to make a kraut that your family will enjoy!

Let it be known, home-brewed beverages and fermented krauts and pickled items are much better tasting than what you will find in any grocery store.

The Hands-on Kombucha and Kefir Brewing Workshop

If you have purchased kombucha from your local market, you will have noticed it is often quite tart in flavor. A kombucha or kefir brew that is tart in flavor may or may not be to your liking. When brewing this beverage at home, you control how long the kombucha ferments—allowing you and your family to create a fermented beverage to your liking. You control the brewing time and the amount of natural flavoring in each bottle, allowing family members to acclimate to the taste.

Those who are hesitant in taking this hands-on kombucha and kefir brewing workshop more than likely have these questions:

  • How do I get my family on board with consuming kombucha or water kefir?
